Highlights from my year

2022 was a pivotal year for me. I started the year not anticipating any of the things that happened.

In January I decided that I was going to move forward with publishing my first book. I had no idea what I was getting myself into, but I just determined that I was going to do it.

The end product? “Always Improving: Lessons from the samurai”. I am proud of that piece of work for a lot of reasons.

  1. It allowed me to process through emotions and my past
  2. The people that have read it and commented to me have seen themselves in some of the stories and can relate to my journey
  3. I’ve had 4 podcast interviews released so far this year with a few more recorded and scheduled to be released soon
  4. It has pivoted my identity and I now consider myself to be a writer

I have been journaling for about 10 years now, ever since I went to therapy for the first time. It has been helpful for me to get my thoughts out of my head and onto literal paper. I like to use paper journals.
